| Grand Finale Weekend Capitol Forest Washington, Sept. 6 & 7 2008 That's a wrap!! Another great season of FOCF mtb racing wraps up in Capitol Forest. After 6 consecutive rainy events starting in the spring of '07 we were rain free!! With perfect weather, great camping and trails that were absolutely buffed thanks to the hardworking FOCF volunteers we couldn't have asked for a better season closing weekend. XC Now that's a cross country race! With a figure 8 route, lots of climbing and plenty of incredible descending and NO ROADS OR DOUBLE TRACK, FOCF and Capitol Forest are putting the Cross Country back in NW XC racing. One time local boy Erik Atwood of BRI Racing took the XC overall in the Mens Open class and local FOCF girl Heidi Grantham took the XC overall in the Women's Open class. ."That is the best XC race course I've ever raced on" -anonymous mens open class racer SD Top to bottom! The GL6 SD course in its entirety. In the Mens Open class Fluid Ride brought the heat this weekend with local FOCF ripper Matt Jagger defending the home turf with a second in the Mens Open class. Nathan Riddle from Fluid Ride made the trek up from Oregon to take the day and overall series Mens Open class wins. Joy Mutoli of Mutoli Racing stepped up in the Womens Open class for the series overall.
